COVID-19 Update

CoronaVirus (COVID-19) – A Message from the Team at Thorntons Accountants and Business Advisors

At Thorntons we take our responsibility for the well-being of our staff and clients seriously.  As the situation with the COVID-19 pandemic continues to escalate in Australia and around the world, we want to take this opportunity to update our clients regarding the measures we have been putting in place over the last three weeks.

Thorntons has in place a Business Continuity Management (BCM) policy to reduce the potential impact of a pandemic event.  At this point, we do not anticipate any significant impact on our ability to deliver services, but we will continue to assess the situation and update our clients as appropriate.

Personal Health and Safety

We have implemented safeguards that meet official Government guidelines.

  • Any of our people returning to Australia from any overseas location are required to self-quarantine (i.e. remain out of the office and work from home) for 14 days.
  • We have requested anyone who is feeling unwell to stay out of the office and work from home. Employees who are experiencing flu like symptoms are required to see their doctor and gain clearance before returning to the office.

Clients and Visitors

  • We are limiting all non-essential interactions with visitors in our offices and encouraging the use of video conferencing and collaboration platforms as much as possible.
  • We are restricting access to our offices for anyone who has travelled outside of Australia in the last 14 days.

If you currently have a meeting scheduled with one of our team, and are feeling unwell or have recently travelled, please contact us to discuss alternative arrangements.

Working from home

Whilst most of our team members are equipped and able to work from home, we have not escalated our working from home arrangements at this time.  We will continue to monitor the situation and implement this as needed to ensure the continuity of our services.

Our foremost concern continues to be preserving the health and well-being of our people and our clients during this period. Should you have any questions or need further information about how we are managing aspects of our business and the delivery of our services, please do not hesitate to contact us.
